Valve released Windows drivers for its Steam Machine console, letting end-users replace the pre-installed SteamOS with 64-bit Windows 10 or Windows 11. The driver package from Valve covers graphics, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and memory card reader. Since Steam Machine is based on a semi-custom SoC the company co-developed with AMD, and not a production AMD Ryzen SKU, the graphics driver isn’t from the same AMD Software Adrenalin trunk. What’s also interesting to note here, is that the machine doesn’t support dual-booting between Windows and SteamOS. With Windows in place, you can simply install the Steam application, and use it in Big Picture mode for an experience resembling SteamOS.
